The flaw in the BES BlackBerry attachment services PDF distiller component which prepares Adobe PDF files to be opened on the BlackBerry handsets has been fixed in BES 4.1.6
Although RIM issued a precautionary security advisory, to advise customers about the potential vulnerability in the BlackBerry Enterprise server versions 4.1.3 through to 4.1.5 there were actually no reports of any actual problems experienced by users. A RIM spokesperson has said that the vulnerability does not exist in the BlackBerry Enterprise server 4.1.6.
The upgrade also includes a handful of new features available to both corporate BlackBerry users and administrators. BlackBerry users on BES 4.1.6 can now get HTML and rich content email by default.
