Spotify payment via Apple iPhone handset, good value or not?

As we know, the song streaming service, Spotify can now be accessed through a mobile phone and especially now that the Sportify for iPhone application is out, and also on the Google Android platform; whereby subscribers to the Spotify premium service pay £9.99 a month.

However, The Times, reports that their testing of the Spotify service shows that although it’s easily accessed over a wireless broadband connection, once you step outside, the user can look forward to a long download time for tracks.

They found that outside perfect 3G coverage areas, Spotify songs took in excess of a minute to buffer, and although the iPhone allows the user to access other functions while songs play, the Spotify app doesn’t allow this thus leading to a patient wait. So with this in mind is Spotify payment via the Apple iPhone handset, good value or not?
