The latest Apple iPhone free software upgrade was released today. It stops Telecom XT and 2 degrees users from notebook tethering.

Both XT and 2 degrees customers who wish to continue tethering are strongly advised to miss out the OS 3.1 upgrade. Only those customers who use an official iPhone carrier such as Vodafone will be able to continued tethering after upgrading to OS 3.1.

According to Fiona Martin a Sydney based Apple spokeswomen, Tethering is the carrier’s responsibility. They will be working with Vodafone to ensure that their customers can continue to tether. To find out more visit nbr.co.nz
