Symbian aims to keep their lead in the crowded market by focusing on making the Symbian operating system easy to use for developers and users reports Reuters.
In recent years, Symbian in the UK has lost market share to the likes of Google and Apple; however, a leader of the Symbian Foundation, David Wood predicts that trend to stop and says “Symbian has a great chance to retain the leading position. We should have the ability to keep 50 percent of the smartphone space.”
The Symbian Foundation is headquartered in London and plans to have 1 Billion mobile phones running the Symbian operating system in three to four years time and stated that in February, Symbian was on more than 250 million mobile phones.
