Palm sees their Palm Pre with webOS as their company lifesaver, and thus according to an article over on pocket-lint, Palm’s CEO has put their faith firmly behind webOS and confirmed Palm is to drop Windows Mobile for any future Palm handsets.
The announcement regarding Palm moving away from Microsoft Windows Mobile OS comes on the back of better than expected quarterly earnings for the Palm Pre.
Obviously Palm sees webOS as the future and will want to make it the best operating system they can so actually dropping Windows Mobile isn’t too much of a surprise, but will webOS be the making of Palm to utilise webOS popularity they will need to push out some incredible handset to carry it to keep up with the likes of the iPhone.
