Mobile operating system Moblin at IDF09
Mobile OS space is getting more and more crowded, with newcomer OS systems like Palm’s webOS and Google’s Android OS.
They are really giving the industry leaders like Windows Mobile and iPhone OS and also Symbian S60 a bit of competition. Intel however, not wanting to fee left out of the party want to get in there. Claire Alexander Intel’s product manager has unveiled the Linux based Moblin operating system at IDF09.
Intel seem to be redirecting all their efforts towards mobile space, the Moblin demo did show signs of some obvious aspirations including missed calls, notifications, and with Moblins focus on social network aggregation it is quite clear that Intel does have it’s sights set on the smartphone space.
