Verizon Wireless will see the launch of 4G data in 2010 whereby Verizon will switch on service in as many areas as possible all at the same time according to Tony Melone, the chief technical officer of Verizon reports electronista.
Melone promised that Verizon will not mimic the usual carrier “tease” of introducing faster service in one place at a time but will launch 4G simultaneously; a move which will lead to more of the 25 to 30 expected 4G markets to be ready on launch day.
Verison’s use of LTE standard for 4G will allow Verizon to place the faster mobile data on top of their CDMA/EVDO network sites rather than replace them so a simultaneous roll out is possible.
