Currently there is quite a bit of speculation going on over whether Verizon Wireless will gain the Palm Pre smartphone or not. Well according to an article over on itproportal, 2 sources have now confirmed that Verizon will indeed offer the Palm pre in January 2010.

Apparently the BGR and ecommerce have access to different sources at Verizon who apparently dispute claims by analysts that Verizon has turned down offering the Palm Pre.

It had previously been reported that “people close to the discussions” between Verizon and Palm had stated Verizon had decided to give the Palm pre a miss. One wonders why Verizon would want the Palm Pre anyway, now that Wal-Mart is offering it for $79.99.
