iPhone pricing war not on the cards

O2 has now lost exclusivity over the iconic iPhone and with Orange and Vodafone taking the iPhone onboard it was hoped this would start off an iPhone price war. However, according to an article on the Times Online, customers may be disappointed,

Apparently the chief exec of Carphone Warehouse UK operations, Andrew Harrison has said “I am not convinced there will be a price war. That is a game that only leads in one direction and that is all of them losing. This battle will be fought on other fronts.”

Orange UK has already taken pre-registrations in the figure of 125,000 for the iPhone and is set to take advantage of their broader 3G coverage in an attempt to entice discontented O2 customers to bail out and jump ship.
