Apparently now that O2 have lost their exclusivity over the iconic iPhone, they are looking at allowing their iPhone customers to have their iPhone unlocked once they reach the end of their O2 contract reports an article over on know your mobile.
According to the article, an O2 spokesperson talked to The Register and revealed O2 is looking at new solutions to keep customers happy now the iPhone is available on other networks, with the spokes person apparently saying…“we did not offer unlocking at the end of a customer’s iPhone contract as we had the exclusive contract for the iPhone in the UK. Obviously, that situation has changed… and we are currently working through what will happen.”
Obviously in no way confirmation this is going to happen, but is a plausible solution that O2 could adopt.
