iPhone and DEXT Please Orange Boss Alexander
Orange UK boss, Tom Alexander has been quite a busy bee these past few months what with talks with T-Mobile resulting in an announced merger back in September, and then dropping the bombshell that Orange had nicked the iPhone thus breaking O2 UK’s exclusivity as per report by The Guardian.
Of course not to be outdone, Vodafone also sealed the deal with Apple for the iPhone on the exact same night as Orange, although Vodafone will not begin selling the iPhone until next year.
Alexander is quite pleased having gained the iPhone and Motorola’s first Android offering the Motorola DEXT, and has said…”Owning that space — that mobile is more than voice and text, it’s multimedia — is part of our plan and the missing ingredient in that was of course the iPhone. It is so iconic that it was the device that we had to have.”
