Verizon is rolling out a new advertising campaign, but this time it’s not for a new mobile phone or service but a campaign against text messaging while driving reports intomobile.
The “Don’t Text and Drive” campaign is aimed at drivers who text at the wheel is to blitz online, print, radio and television, billboards and other media in Verizon’s attempt to change the attitudes of the drivers of America and make use of hands-free solutions.
Now, while the “Don’t Text and Drive” campaign is highly commendable, it’s not just texting behind the wheel that risks lives, but rather any use of a mobile phone without using a hands-free solution, so shouldn’t the campaign simply be about using a mobile phone and not just centring around texting, sort of “Don’t Use a Phone and Drive.”
