The Verizon Droid is garnering quite a bit of attention, especially after that Verizon Droid commercial taking a swipe at the iPhone, and so the guys over at sfgate have pulled together what they know so far.

They say Verizon doesn’t seem to get along with Apple these days with the Droid Does iDon’t advert going after the iPhone, combine this with the recent “There’s a map for that” commercial aimed at AT&T and it looks like Verizon is preparing for an all out smartphone war.

Android and Verizon have much to do to catch up the iPhone App Store, but the Droid does look promising as an “iPhone killer.”

Droid will be more than just a single smartphone and will herald a multitude of Android handsets on the Verizon network. The Verizon Droid will be announced on the 28th of this month, and the only thing we don’t yet know is the price.
