Apparently Clearwire is soon to receive a $1.5 billion boost with $1 billion from Sprint and another $500 million form partners, Bright House Networks, Comcast Corp, Intel, Time Warner, although apparently Google will not take part according to the WSJ.
18 months ago the 5 partners put $3.2 billion into the WiMAX network and since then Clearwire has changed top executives including its CEO and is now pushing to roll out in 25 markets by the end of 2009.
Sprint and Comcast have been most aggressive in rolling out 4G services and offers them to customers virtually as fast as Clearwire launches new markets while Time Warner has been a tad slower and Bright House Networks even slower.
