Apparently Adobe has now made available their Flash 10.1 pre-release packages and the download is available for Linux, Intel based Mac and Windows systems and there will be a smartphone version following on later reports an article on engadget.
Adobe has said that a beta version for Palm webOS has bee slated for “later this year”, however currently only the Windows release features hardware based video acceleration for H.264 video.
Adobe also announced an AIR 2 beta which will enable devs to construct more feature rich apps including multi-touch capabilities, and we have a video for your viewing pleasure of multi-touch in AIR 2 and Adobe Flash 10.1 which can be viewed below.
Apparently the release notes state that GPUs will benefit from hardware acceleration and include Intel 4 series, select FirePro products, Broadcom Crystal HD decoder, most NVIDIA ION and GeForce 8/9/1xx/2xx, mobile Radeon HD 4xx series and ATI Radeon HD 3xx and 4xx series.
