The word is that the Motorola CLIQ is to receive an over the air update, which will hopefully correct several major issues, and bumps up the system to version 1.1.31 according to an article over on tmonews.

According the article the update will improve battery life along with touch screen sensitivity for the Motorola CLIQ, also there’s improvement to Bluetooth and accelerometer refinements along with improved connection to corporate email.

The Motorola CLIQ was the first handset to show off Motorola Motoblur but has recently experience numerous issues and seen unimpressive sales maybe due to being overshadowed by the Motorola Droid.

However, Motorola does need to jump on the problems user’s have experienced and get them sorted as soon as possible and no doubt update 1.1.31 does some way to addressing those problems, although it’s no Android 2.0.
