HTC Hero Sim free with support for AT&T 3G
Reviews and comment posted across various forums indicate that most of us are not that happy with the nice looking HTC Hero from Sprint and most really don’t like the HTC Eris from Verizon. We’re all keeping our hopes up on a Hero from across the pond.
Not been luckily enough to get it here, yet that may well all be about to change. As you can see Negris are selling both the black and the white HTC Hero smartphones. Although the phones themselves are nothing really out of the ordinary they still come with the much loved Sense UI and that attractive body that appeals to a lot of you.
The main thing apart from the shape of the device is that this is the North American version and will support AT&T’s 3G bands. With much less 3G coverage, more drop calls and a much steeper price on the plans the question asked is why would anyone prefer this to Verizon or Sprint?
As you can see on the images the price for the Black Hero is $579.50 and $585.50 for the white one. For spending that kind of money you could easily get a NAM, SIM free HTC Hero with Android 1.5 and all the regular features. Source – androidcommunity.com

I thought most people were very enthusiastic about their Sprint Hero or Droid Eris. Are you sure about this claim?
I concur. I have the Sprint Hero and I couldn’t be happier. Comming from a windoze touch pro, I can emphatically state that I am never going back to Microsoft on my phone again. Android is the future of smartphones, pure and simple. Microsoft will not be able to make WM7 revolutionary enough to beat out android WITHOUT stealing most of iphones/androids best features.
