It’s not looking too good a Christmas for several Ericsson workers over in Sweden as according to an article over on eweek, mobile phone maker Ericsson is planning to chop about 946 employees from its workforce in two locations in Sweden.
Apparently the production staff will bear the brunt of said job cuts in Ericsson’s plants in the cities of Boras and Gayle in Sweden.
In a statement, Carl-Henric Svanberg, Ericsson’s chief exec said the reason for the job losses is that Ericsson needs to reduce their production staff as the labour requirement for their products is diminishing as efficiency increases.
So it does indeed look like several Ericsson production staff are going to be finding themselves out in the cold this Christmas; now why do these big companies always seem to leave the job cuts to right on holiday time?
