With the possibility of the new Google Nexus One handset going to T-Mobile over in the states, should Verizon Wireless now be working on Apple to allow them to offer the iPhone as a competitor to the Nexus One? That’s a big question.
The talk of Verizon gaining the iPhone has gone on for quite some time now and although nothing is definite there is always a possibility. But Verizon and Apple simply can’t afford to drag their heels over a Verizon iPhone any longer.
Android popularity is growing at an immense rate, over the last couple of months Verizon has managed to grab most of the attention through the Motorola Droid which is of course another Android smartphone. But with the threat of the Nexus One looming all attention on Droid has virtually vanished.
Google’s Nexus One is poised to storm the mobile phone arena, take on Verizon’s Droid and possibly the iconic iPhone. Verizon doesn’t have a new handset to battle the Nexus One for popularity, so maybe, just maybe it’s time for Verizon and Apple to get serious on allowing the iPhone to the Verizon network, after all, such a move would be beneficial to both Apple and Verizon, and once done could well thwart the Nexus One.
