It seems the main focus of most mobile phone news centres around the Google Nexus One handset today and no doubt more info will hit the net waves over the next coming weeks. Thus it’s no surprise that the next bit of news comes from FCC files as the guys over at engadget reveal the Nexus One has now gained approval from the FCC.

The image spotted on the FCC seems to confirm that the actual name will be Nexus One rather than Google Phone and there appears to be a microSD slot sitting alongside the SIM card slot along with NEXSUSONE at the top so no chance of any error that this isn’t the Nexus One.

According to said FCC files the Nexus One will be quad-band GSM/EGDE and UMTS/HSDPA and tri-band 850/1700/1900 so can support both T-Mobile and AT&T carriers.

And that’s about your lot for now, at present we are not too sure if the Nexus One will be available unlocked as previously rumoured, or exactly just when it will hit the streets or what pricing it may or may not command.
