The use of dual SIM slots on mobile phones is currently a big thing in places such as China and Russia but not so much in America and Europe, but that’s not going to stop Nokia from going the dual SIM slot route on their mobile phones in 2010 apparently.
According to an article over on phone arena, Nokia will produce mobile phones sporting dual SIM slots next year, and word that this will be, comes via a tweet from none other than Eldar Murtazin who tweeted that a Nokia executive has confirmed that Nokia will offer dual SIM in the “mid tier” segment in Q2 of 2010.
Of course no official confirmation has come from Nokia, just the tweet saying that Nokia is going this route in 2010 from Murtazin, who it has to be said is almost spot on the nail every time.
So we’ll be keeping an eye out to see just how many dual SIM handsets Nokia is looking at pushing out in 2010 and as soon as we hear and details we will of course pass it along.
