The Bold and the Storm has recently received updates from Research In Motion , both devices have been put through their paces to see whether or not it’s worth upgrading.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700, just like the 9000 beforehand. The new model has Wi-Fi and GPS and has double the flash memory at 256MB. The 9700 is definitely smaller and lighter than the 9000, the leatherette backing remains from the older model.

The specs from RIM state that the 9000 is 114 x 66 x 15mm and weighs 136g, the new 9700 measures 109 x 60 x 14mm and weighs just 122g. The keypad on both are about the same size which is great. Not a great deal of difference really just a little smaller and lighter.

You will more than likely experience some errors when typing as on both the keys are relatively small, and your thumb is likely to hit the wrong button. Great for short text messages or emails but wouldn’t fancy creating a presentation or long worded article. Source – v3.co.uk
