Research In Motion Partners China Telecom for BlackBerry
The word is China Telecom has now said they will offer BlackBerry smartphones in China in partnership with Canadian BlackBerry maker Research In Motion after reaching an agreement, reports an article over on the WSJ.
Jacky Yung, a spokesperson for China Telecom has stated that China Telecom is working out practical arrangements with the BlackBerry maker, but as yet does not have a timetable for when they will begin offering BlackBerry smartphones.
Not too long ago Research In Motion stated they will offer BlackBerry devices in small businesses and individual users in China via China Mobile and has plans to offer a BlackBerry smartphone which will run on the Chinese developed mobile phone tech TDSCDMA.
So it appears Research In Motion is going at it in a big way to deliver BlackBerry handsets to the world’s largest mobile phone market.
