4G LTE 700MHz Devices specs updated by Verizon
On Wednesday the 20th of January 2010 at 11AM ET, Verizon Wireless will deliver a webcast reviewing the updated specs for 4G wireless devices which run on the Verizon 700MHz LTE network reports an article over on the BGR.
LTE developers can point their web browser towards Verizon Wireless’s web page and pre-register for the 4G LTE Verizon webcast.
Apparently updates will include but are not limited to info on address network access, data retry tests, lab and signalling conformance, details on device approval, SMS requirements and introduction process.
Developers can sign up and login to Verizon’s open development website to gain a preview of the updated specs in PDF format as of now, and if you’re only interested in knowing when mobile phones will be able to pull down 12Mbps, Verizon plans on launching LTE in 25 to 30 markets sometime in 2010 and plans on covering most of their 3G footprint by 2013 years end.
