Well is that a surprise or not? Apple has agreed to purchase mobile advertising start-up Quattro Wireless for the sum of $275 million, according to all things digital.
Quattro would be well targeted after Google bought rival mobile advertising seller AdMob for $750 million last year.
As it was purchased by Apple computer and gadget maker does however highlight the growing rivalry between Google and Apple. The move follows Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt leaving Apple’s board of directors back in August.
Apple Chief Steve Jobs and Schmidt once upon a time close allies now compete in a fast growing array of businesses. Google said last year that it would begin distributing an operating system for cheap network computers potentially again pitting against Apple in the desktop software market.
