Sometime today the 5th of January 2010, Google is expected to release details and an official announcement of their latest mobile product the Google Nexus One Android smartphone at an Android press conference in Mountain View.

During said Android press conference it is expected Google will release details on their plans for the Google phone, and it has been speculated that Google will release the Nexus One at this press conference as well.

However, there is no mention of launching the Nexus One in the conference invitation with the invite simply stating that “With the launch of the first Android-powered device just over a year ago, we’ve seen how a powerful, open platform can spur mobile product innovation. And this is just the beginning of what’s possible,” reports khabrein.info

So could it be that everyone is actually mistaken and Google will not actually launch the Nexus One on January the 5th but rather just announce its impending release date? One thing is for sure, in a few hours time we’ll all find out.
