Has Apple Banned Skype for iPhone App?
Now probably most iPhone users already have Skype for iPhone from the iPhone App Store, but if you haven’t then apparently you may not be able to as it appears Skype for iPhone is currently unavailable on the App Store.
According to the guys over at the iphone blog, Skype for iPhone is now unavailable in the US and other international iPhone App Stores and if you search Skype it simply doesn’t show up.
Could this just be a temporary state of affairs or perhaps Skype has pulled the app and is getting ready for a new version. Maybe Apple has fallen out with Skype and has pulled the app themselves, all very intriguing.
They say an international ‘hours long glitch’ sounds odd, and the removal of an old version and simply leaving nothing available until a new version is ready is not how it typically works. So what are your thought, could Skype have pulled the app preceding a new announcement at CES or could Apple have actually banned the Skype app.
