More Delay for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 Launch
Sony Ericsson had originally scheduled their XPERIA X2 smartphone to launch last year, but due to delays over bug problems in the software and optimising battery life, Sony Ericsson rescheduled the XPERIA X2 launch to the first week of January 2010.
Well Sony Ericsson has missed that target as well as an article over on brighthand reports that at this point it is unclear when the Windows Mobile Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 will actually see store shelves.
Apparently Sony Ericsson are keeping mum about this but have posted on their xperia related blog that “We want to be sure that when we ship this it is as good as it should be.” So basically no idea when the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 will see launch.
Quick spec reminder as you may have forgotten, 3.2 inch WVGA touch screen, slide out QWERTY keyboard, Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro operating system, quad-band GSM, 8.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus and image stabilisation, Exchange, GPS, Bluetooth WiFi and microSDHC expansion.

Never has a phone been so hard to sell as this one.
Sony Ericsson: Get rid of those tired old Windows Phones you try to flog at us. Nobody wants them.
We’re waiting for the Xperia X10 Android phone to arrive. That will be worth waiting for.
The Xperia X2 would have been a good phone a year ago. But now it offers little.
What are people to make of current Windows Mobile Phones, when the operating system platform that they use (Windows Mobile 6.5) is about to be discontinued.
Microsoft is moving towards Windows Mobile Seven, and it seems most current phones, like the X2, won’t be upgradeable.
Sony Ericsson is moving to Google’s operating system, Android. The successor to the X2, the Xperia X10 will run Android. The X10 will be a good phone, but not the X2.
