I’m quite confidant that virtually everyone knows Nokia’s classic ringtone, we hear it on today’s mobile phones and even in movies, and now the Nokia classic ringtone has inspired classicalist Marc-André Hamelin.
Hamelin has used the Nokia classic ringtone to compose a rather haunting piano composition, and we have a video of said composition for your listening pleasure below courtesy of the guys over at gizmodo, and lasts just 52 seconds.
It goes to show that a popular simple ringtone such as the Nokia classic ringtone can be transformed into a more substantial piece of music called The Ringtone Waltz, and is quite enjoyable to listen to.
That’s about all there is to say, other than I can’t really see any other mobile phone ringtone actually inspiring a composition; so hit up the video below and enjoy.
