Most Motorola Smartphones to Sport Multitouch in Future says CEO
Currently there is a bit of a divide between US Android based smartphones and European Android based smartphones such as the Motorola Droid, Milestone and Google Nexus One; this divide being multitouch.
Apparently the reason for the lack of multitouch on US Android smartphones is due to patent and licensing issues, but it appears that Motorola is figuring a way round this to deliver multitouch tech to their US smartphones in future.
According to an article over on mobile crunch, in an interview, Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha said that he believes we will see Motorola deliver multitouch technology in the majority of their handsets going forward.
Jha also stated that there are a complex set of factors, some not technical, but we’ll see Motorola “proactive on multitouch” due to the user feedback on multitouch being very good. Thus it would appear that most of future Motorola smartphone will pack multitouch, although it could also mean outside the US only.
