The Android operating system has in the past been given some peculiar monikers, Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, and the next version has been in the past referred to as Flan taking the same pastry route and previous versions.
However according to an article over on engadget, we have all been naming Flan incorrectly. Apparently, Google guy Erick Tseng dropped a little nugget of info on engadget saying that the next version of the Android OS won’t be called Flan but rather Froyo.
Froyo, as I’m sure most know is short for Frozen Yoghurt, so still follows the line of food with Android naming but moves a tad away from the pastry flavours.
Unfortunately though, Tseng wouldn’t give over any other juicy detail on just how far along Froyo would be from Android 2.1 which theoretically is part of Éclair. So there it is, Android moves from fattening pasty to healthy yoghurt.
