Although Nokia has the Maemo 5 operating system in the Nokia flagship N900 tit doesn’t mean they have forgotten about Symbian, and to show that they haven’t they have published their proposals for the UI in Symbian^4 to the Symbian Foundation.
According to an article over on arnnet, Symbian^4 will introduce a modern style and feel to the Symbian platform and will feature a widget dashboard and “consistent user interface between applications.”
Symbian^4 will also sport an auto-save function that will streamline the experience for the user. Nokia’s Effie Vraka describes Symbian^4 as “placing the Symbian User Experience into the race with Android, PalmOS and iPhone.”
The user interface will apparently have 4 main views being, apps, music, photos, and contacts says Nokia, and users will be able to create shortcuts to be placed on the home scree so they can access collections or content.
