Nokia Q4 was a Big Earner
Nokia has been slowly losing ground in the mobile world of late as sales of Nokia handsets kept slipping for the first three quarters. However according to an article over on gsmarena, Nokia mobile phones have been flying during the holiday season.
This means that Nokia saw an end of year net profit of a rather reasonable €882 million, which isn’t that bad considering Nokia has been troubled by the economic down turn.
Figure wise Nokia shipped some 126.9 million handsets in Q4, that’s 12 percent up on the previous year and 17 percent up on Q3 of 09 which has generated revenue of €12 billion. Nokia estimates their market share at 39 percent, which is up from 37 percent in QA 08 and 38 percent in Q3 09.
Nokia estimates that their market share is a 1 percent decrease when compared to the entire year previous, and ended the year with more than €1.6 billion operating loss.
