Apple iPhone 4G 2010: Staying with AT&T so forget Verizon

So many of you are wondering when Apple (AAPL) will finally allow Verizon to sell the all new iPhone 4G 2010, well we can see this will not ever happen if you look at what is happening now.

The new Apple iPad Tablet was announced last week at the Apple Event and it is clear that AT&T will get exclusivity for this device, this says to us that when the all new iPhone 4G is launched it will not be going to Verizon Wireless, but we could be wrong.

This is all a little confusing many would say on the basis of all the rumours we have heard over the last few weeks, rumours had it that AT&T would lose its iPhone exclusivity but if that is the case why would Apple give exclusivity to AT&T for the iPad in the U.S.

There is a possibility when the new iPad is released in the UK O2 and Orange will stock it, have to wait and see on this one. We will obviously keep you updated when it comes to Verizon getting the iPhone and of course if indeed AT&T will lose the iPhone exclusivity, which is very much doubtful at the moment.

Please don’t call the 2010 iPhone “4G”. The 3G in the iPhone refers to the network, not the device generation. So this year’s 4th generation iPhone will be another 3G. 4G networks will probably come in 2011 or so.

Hate to tell you bro but Sprint if you havnt checked is already running 4G. Verizon and other CDMA companies are close behind. I think someone at AT&T is getting on their knees to Steve Jobs for keeping them. Apple looses a lot of consumers by jut sticking with AT&T due to their lack of technology and customer service. I have always wanted a damn Iphone but damned ifi am ever going to switch to AT&T. Hopes of Apple finaly spreading their wings sounds nice to me. I dont know about AT&T’s international support mabey thats why they keep choosing them. Anyways ill be crossing my fingers for a change.

Actually Scott, if you ever read any detail on the Spring “4G” is that it really is not a “4G” network, as the true requirement to be 4G is to have data speeds of over 100 megabits per second.

It looks like I will not be getting an iPhone if AT&T keeps it current agreement with Apple. I have had AT&T and I was not impressed with the coverage or their service, not to mention the identity crises AT&T had when they went to Cingular and then back to AT&T. Nope I’ll stick with Verizon and the phones they provide, although their not as good as an iPhone. Additionally if Apple insists on AT&T for their iPad I will not be getting one of those as well.

I wonder how many potential customers Apple is losing out on with their insistence on sticking with AT&T?

Apple's contract with AT&T is up this summer, 2010. So that would motivate Apple to move to the bigger better network in Verizon to sell a whole lot more phones.
