Will the iPad cause further problems for AT&T
The FCC claims that they are concerned that the Apple iPad when it hit’s the market may have an impact on AT&T’s 3G network. Although they haven’t named AT&T it has secured a carrier deal for the tablet device.
The iPad is expected to arrive in two models one of them will enable both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. iPhone data use has been overwhelming AT&T’s 3G network already and the FCC may have a a cause for concern over the Apple 3G iPad, which is also said to be set to use AT&T’s network in the US.
Some cities already enjoying smartphone popularity have experienced problems with outages, dropped calls and delayed messages. Also affected is slow web access and service interruptions.
Apple announced their quarterly earnings in January and claimed to have sold 8.7 million iPhones which equates to a 100% gain over the last year. Some analysts predict that the Apple iPads will sell between 2 million and 5 million in the first year. Source – news.cnet.com
