Nokia to develop its Salo plant focus on smartphone market
Finland based mobile phone makers Nokia, the leading handset vendor has announced that they intend on enhancing their operating mode at their Salo Plant.
This will mean they can focus on the high end portion of the smartphone market. Salo though this move id likely to result in the loss of around 285 at the plant.
Not only the high end but also high in value end of the smartphone market, mainly in Europe. The 285 employees that are likely to be affected by the said plans are currently involved in the production areas and support areas at Salo.
On a brighter note, the company has stated that it plans alternative solutions for those that may be affected by offering new positions within the company for them. There will be discussions in relation to voluntary severance packages as well. To read more on this story please visit softpedia.com
