Although the big news with Opera at Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona is their Opera Mini for iPhone, Opera did touch on another subject, and that is to deliver to smartphone makers a toolkit for getting Opera Mobile preloaded onto Android based handsets.
The guys over at mobile crunch had the opportunity to speak with Opera Software product analyst, Phillip Grønvold, who demonstrated the Opera Mobile application running on the latest Android smartphone from Google, the Nexus One.
Of course if someone is doing a demonstration at MWC 2010 it’s obviously going to be capture on video, and the guys did just that, and we have said Opera Mobile running on the Nexus One video demonstration for your viewing pleasure below.
Opera Software does state that it is not a consumer product, but an OEM offering, and that they hope to get Opera Mobile preinstalled on Android handsets by the end of the year. Check out the video below and enjoy.
