Committed to Windows Mobile phone platform HTC
Some would say it would appear that HTC have gone head over heels with Google’s Android mobile operating system as they just don’t seem to be able to stop launching Android phones.
Good news though they haven’t forgotten where it all started with Microsoft, Peter Chou HTC’s chief executive officer has confirmed that the company are committed to all things Windows Phone. Which is great news for Windows Phone fans.
Even more so when you consider the Windows Phone 7 Series which was demonstrated by Microsoft at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Chou said that their commitment to Microsoft has never changed, and added they are committed to Android as well.
It certainly looks clear enough from here that HTC are keeping their options widely open, and who can blame them really. In Barcelona last week at the MEC HTC unveiled three new phones two being Android phones, and a single Windows mobile device which was a miniature version of the HTC’s HTC HD2 not surprisingly called the HTC HD Mini. Not sure if it’s “good news” that HTC will produce another ‘Windows Phone Classic’ handset. That platform, previously known as Windows Mobile, is soon to be abandoned, because Microsoft announced it will move to a new Series 7 phone platform.
So who would want the old Windows Phone Classic now?
And how many of the next platform Series 7 handsets has HTC announced? I don’t think it’s many. Maybe only one or two.
The vast majority of HTC’s phone line-up seems to be based on Google’s Android phone platform, which I think is much more popular.
