Windows Phone 7 Series hardware rumours
The range of hardware up until now has been the blessing for manufacturers of Windows Mobile phones. Apparently though this is all about to change.
The Windows Mobile 7 Series is what is going to change all that as Microsoft are being extremely strict on what can and what cant be used in relation to the hardware. There are some rumours on what will and what wont be allowed.
Generally early pocket PC or Windows Mobile phones pretty much had the same form factor. A 320 x 240 screen and perhaps a keyboard if you were lucky. Now the smartphone devices without touchscreen had smaller screens. Things started to change with Windows Mobile 2003 Second edition with larger resolutions, square screens and landscape options.
Now Windows Phone 7 Series, the chassis requirements are strict and basically requires a 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen, accelerometer and a FM radio a 3.5mm headphone jack along with GPS and a 5 megapixel camera and much more. It is worth remembering that these are not just suggestions they are actual requirements. To find out more on this story visit informationweek.com
