The word on the Nokia Ovi Maps front is that Nokia has recently pushed out a firmware update which brings the version of Nokia Ovi Maps up to version 3.04, however the word also says that this updates at present only works on some mobile phones.

According to an article over on mobilewhack, Nokia Ovi Maps v3.04 update is small but delivers improved search for cities that includes “zoom out to city level,” and improved positioning accuracy and speed.

Apparently this new version of Ovi Maps 3.04 only works with Symbian S60 5th Edition mobile phones including the Nokia 6710 Navigator and the Nokia E72 amongst others.

So there you go you lucky S60 5th Edition handset users, the only people thus far to gain Nokia Ovi Maps version 3.04, now how long will it be before Nokia get this update out to other handsets?
