Verizon data outages now fixed, was you affected?

Verizon Wireless have stated that they have now fixed the software issue that they had, which caused customers east of the Mississippi, which resulted in loss of mobile data or very poor speeds. That’s what’s been said over on intomobile.com

The reason behind this problem according to Verizon the nations largest mobile carrier was a bad switch software at one of their data centres which caused slower data speeds or no access at all through the 3G network.

The problems apparently affected customers for some four hours and Verizon haven’t actually said how many users were affected but that Voice networks were not impacted. Most customers kind of expect an occasional outage and if it only happens say once a year or so then that’s not too bad is it?

A recent PC world 3G performance test said that the Big red’s average download speeds decreased by 8% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Some would say that it would appear that Verizon may be struggling to cope with the demand of users on devices such as the droid. Were you affected by the outage and if so how long were you affected for we’d love to hear your comments.
