At the Geneva Motor Show Nokia showcased the Nokia Terminal Mode, and the guys over at engadget have a few images that show us what Nokia Terminal Mode will look like in the vehicle dashboard, and Nokia Terminal Mode is intended to “smarten up” your vehicles hardware with your Nokia handset capabilities.
Basically the Nokia Terminal Mode is a device which links up your Nokia smartphone with your car’s infotainment system and will give the user access to their Nokia smarphone features such as music, web browsing and Ovi Maps.
Nokia has also announced along with Alpine, new partnerships with Valmet Automotive, Harman Becker and Fiat. The image is a mock-up from Valmet that places a Nokia smartphone into the cradle which sits just under the Eva “concepts” on switch, and then switched all the important gear onto an LCD which has been integrated into the dash.
Apparently each OEM has their own specific design so what you see in the image may be different from others, but the guys say they are not too sure on how far ease of use goes.
