FCC Approves Nokia C5
After doing their usual delving into the US FCC files, the guys over at engadget came up with that the first handset in the Nokia Cseries line; the Nokia C5 has now gained FCC approval for use in the good ole US of A, but isn’t actually for the US.
Although they do comment that whether the Nokia C5 will actually see North American store shelves is entirely a different matter; however, a below the $200 price point unlocked smartphone is quite difficult to ignore.
They also confirm that this model will not be the version seen in America as it is quad-band GSM 900/2100 only, and thus the European version, but if you are into all the technical jargon there is a manual of some 91 pages waiting to be perused over on the FCC database.
Spec wise the low end Nokia C5 offers fairly basic specs at a 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, 2.2 inch display, Symbian S60 OS, Ovi Maps 3, 3.5mm jack and microSD expansion.
