50 Million Smartphones in US states CTIA 2010 Survey
Apparently by the end of 2009 there were 50 million smartphones in the United States according to a survey announced during CTIA 2010 in Las Vegas, according to an article over on mobihealthnews.
Furthermore there are in excess of 285 million wireless connections in the United States which includes wireless aircards and mobile phones, and wireless data service revenues increased some 25.7% in the last half of 08 to in excess of $22 billion in the last half of 09.
Other details revealed are more than 822 billion texts were sent and received during the last half of 09, which equates to roughly 5 billion texts per day by the end of the year.
Apparently during the calendar year of 09 there were more than a staggering 1.5 trillion texts on carrier networks while users sent over 24.2 billion multimedia messages and images in the 2nd half of 09 which is twice the number sent in 08.
