Google Voice for Android has now been given a little upgrade to make it faster as Google has released Google Voice for Android The Real-Time Edition reports an article over on engadget who gained the info via pcworld.
The latest release is Google Voice 0.3.2 for Android and delivers real time functionality to the Android platform and introduces a new feature they call “inbox synchronisation” which means messages are delivered in seconds rather than the minutes it used to take.
So basically with Google Voice for Android Real Time Edition voice messages and texts virtually instantly as they arrive much like push notifications.
You’ll need to activate your “inbox synchronisation” and to accomplish this you go into Google Voice settings, touch Refresh and notifications and you inbox sync is done and you will receive faster notifications along with Google Voice disabling SMS forwarding so you don’t get duplication.
