Verizon are gearing up to rollout the Motorola Droid Android 2.1 Update and many have been waiting for this for quite sometime.
The update was supposed to happen earlier this month but it was put on hold, it will be with you today, please let us know if you have it already or you are still waiting for it.
A Verizon email went out this morning saying this update will hit Droid users at noon on March 30 and a total of 1,000 users will receive this notification. 9,000 others will receive an alert just before midnight.
The email said that Verizon Wireless is to announce a brand new software update for the DROID by Motorola; key features will include Yahoo mail being supported where customers can sign in with their Yahoo! Email address and password (Yahoo! Email is not available over Wi-Fi), Pinch to Zoom now available in the Browser, Maps, and Gallery.
Other features include: Speech-to-Text where you can use your own voice, Google Goggles is now preloaded, there is a new Gallery application uses 3D layout and shows both pictures taken with the customer’s Android device and images from Picasa Web Albums account online.
