iPhone OS 3.2 and 3.3: Does this mean two new devices?
Well, the plot thickens on the subject of the next iPhone after some hints have been found in the iPad file system could this mean we’ll have two?
First of all we had clues around the model of the iPhone which is expected later this year, in version 3.1 of the OS back then though there was only the one listing.
A screenshot has been captured and published by Boy Genius Report which shows the latest iPhone OS update version 3.2 and what’s more it indicates two phones being listed with essentially the same hardware.
The original iPhone and the iPhone 3G are noted as 1.1 and 1.2 which indicates that the general platform is pretty much the same in terms of the hardware. Then we have the iPhone 3GS is listed as iPhone 2.1 which makes sense as the hardware is different from that of the previous two models. Then there is a listing for iPhone 3.1, which is reported to be the model Apple started testing last November. Next we have two other models iPhone 3.2 and 3.3 are new in iPhone OS version 3.2, looking at the numbering used in the first two phones it is pretty certain that they share the same basic hardware as the previous new model. What’s the difference then? maybe one version is CDMA of course this has influenced even more rumours in relation to a Verizon iPhone but its looking more and more feasible.
