One of the latest slider phones from Verizon Wireless is the Motorola Devour, which is based Google’s Android platform version 1.6 is available for just $150 with a two year contract.
This device focuses strongly on the social side of things with Facebook, Twitter and more on your home page.
It is a kind of blocky looking device and is a bit on the large side it certainly isn’t an ugly device but also isn’t sexy or sleek looking. It fits into your pocket but may will produce a bulge of sorts!
It has a 3.1 inch HVGA display capacitive touchscreen which looks great. The colours are sharp and clear and whether your reading or viewing photos everything is clear. It’s keyboard has large keys which is easy enough to use.
The Devour runs the Google Android OS 1.6 with some additional software added to the Smartphone. It has a 600 MHz processor which is slightly faster than the one in the Motorola Droid which gives the Devour good performance.
Internet browsing is good as Android offers one of the best browsers available on any Smartphone. Your pages will run fast even the ones designed for to run in a desktop. The Motorola Devour comes with a 3.0 megapixel camera which is a little disappointing when you look at the zoom function. although it is adequate to fill in on something that you would otherwise miss.
