According to research by Strategy Analytics, China’s 3G standard TD-CDMA phones sales is set to gain a strong boost this year as China Mobile pushes for new products and services and they say they expect sales to grow sevenfold reports an article over on unwired view via Reuters.
If Strategy Analytics predictions turn out to be correct China Mobile’s present 3.4 million subscriber count will grow to a level which is comparable with Apple iPhone sales during 2009 and quite a bit ahead of all the mobile phones using Windows Mobile last year.
To further the adoption of their home grown 3G standard, China Mobile has allocated a 45 billion yuan budget which is about $6.6 billion to extend their 3G coverage and roll out in excess of 80 new TD-CDMA mobile phones manufactured by different makers.
Some companies which should benefit from China Mobile’s push have been identified by Strategy Analytics as Samsung Electronics, Nokia, Huawei, ST-Ericsson, Spreadtrum, Media Tek and ZTE.
