Now you may or may not have heard of SaskTel who are based in Saskatchewan as they aren’t that big a mobile carrier in Canada and are very regional subscriber wise. Well it appears that the CEO of SaskTel, Robert Watson has dropped some news about a new iPhone according to an article over on engadget.
Apparently Watson, speaking to the Leader Post on SaskTel’s 3G network launch on the 1st of July said…”The good news is that (Apple) is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June time-frame and they’re going to put us on that. So we’re quite excited about that.”
Well as Apple has launched a new version of the iPhone roundabout the same timeframe every year since the iPhone first hit the market, it’s a good bet that a new version will be seen, but as yet still no firm word from Apple.
Could Watson be talking about the much talked about and rumoured iPhone 4G or CDMA iPhone? Well he is in a position to conceivably be in the know, but although SaskTel is CDMA the 3G network they are in the process of rolling out is an iPhone friendly HSPA.
